He then took his collection of Grateful Dead banners and hung them randomly in the garage. When hung, the approximately twenty banners covered most of the walls and ceiling. The van that once was used for summer tours was parked on one side of the garage.

My friend still takes the van out for an occasional spin or to see a show, but generally it sits in the garage most of the time. The other side of the garage was made more comfortable with couches and rugs. A large steal your face was painted on the floor. The 70's feel of the room continued when walls that were not covered with banners were painted in a tie dye fashion. This garage was not built to show others, and the walls, banners, painting and van are all things unique to my friend. Should my friend ever want or need to convert it back to a normal garage, it can be easily repainted.
